Una voz delicada y envolvente, ritmos electrónicos que juegan a crear magia bailando con instrumentos tradicionales, música que parece recién salida del País de las Maravillas y una artista, Émilie Simon.

A delicate and sweeping voice,  electronic beats which play to create magic dancing with traditional instruments, music that seems come out from Wonderland and one artist, Émilie Simon.

Apasionada de la música desde su infancia, ingresó en el conservatorío de Montpellier cuando tenía 7 años; en su adolescencia se dejó seducir por el jazz, el rock y la música  electrónica, estilo que ha marcado su trayectoria musical. Licenciada en musicología, una vez terminados sus estudios, ingresó en el Instituto Ircam (L'Institut de recherche et coordination acoustique/musique) de París, donde tuvo la oportunidad de experimentar y profundizar en la creación musical por medio de las nuevas tecnologías. En esta etapa dio forma a su álbum debut, Émilie Simon (2003).

Passionate about music since her childhood, she entered in the Conservatoire de Montpellier when she was 7; in her teenage she was seduced by jazz, rock and electronic music, a style that has marked her musical career. Graduated in musicology, after she completed her studies, she joined IRCAM Institute (L'Institut de Recherche et Coordination acoustique / musique) in Paris, where she had the opportunity to experiment and depth in musical creation through new technologies. At this stage she shaped her debut album Émilie Simon (2003).

En  Marche de l’empereur (creado para un documental sobre pingüinos) y en Végétal (2006), la artista puso en contacto a la naturaleza con el mundo de los teclados y sintentizadores; las composiciones, llenas de belleza, elegancia y un punto de misterio, atrapan a quien las escucha con facilidad. Con el recopilatorio The Flower Book (2007) que incluía canciones tanto en francés como en inglés, se presentó al mercado internacional y  el mismo año grabó un directo en la mítica sala Olympia de París, À L’Olympia (2007).

In Marche de l'empereur (created for a documentary about penguins) and Végétal (2006), the artist put in touch the nature with the world of the keyboards and synthesizer; the compositions full of beauty, elegance and a point mystery catch the listener easily. Émilie Simon was presented to the international market with the compilation The Flower Book (2007) that included songs in both French and English, in the same year she recorded a live show at the legendary Paris Olympia hall, À L'Olympia (2007).

 Su último proyecto  musical The big machine(2009), es un diario musical sobre  las experiencias y sensaciones que vivió durante su estancia en Nueva York. Una explosión de ritmos llenos de colores que capturan el dinamismo y la diversidad de la "Gran Manzana".

Her latest musical project The big machine (2009), is a musical diary of the experiences and sensations she experienced during her stay in New York. An explosion of colourful rhythms that capture the dynamism and diversity of the "Big Apple".

Su colección Primavera/Verano 2011 (se puede ver en las imágenes) me recuerda sobre todo a las culturas antiguas que estaban en estrecha relación con la naturaleza.

 

Their S/S 2011 collection ( you can see in the images) remembers me mostly to ancient cultures which were  tightly related to nature.

Deseando amar (2000), Wong Kar-wai; el título original, Fa yeung nin wa, sin embargo, se podría traducir como La magnificencia de los años pasa como las flores; es curioso y fascinante la elegancia y sutileza de los orientales a la hora de expresarse...parece que en nuestra cultura, en cambio, se  valora más  el impacto facil y rápido del mensaje...

In the mood for love (2000), Wong Kar-wai, the original title Fa yeung nin wa, could be translated as The magnificence of the years passed as the flowers; it is curious and fascinating the elegance and subtlety of Oriental  people which they express ... it seems that in our culture, however, the easy and fast impact of the message is more valued...

...Una historia sencilla, envuelta en el perfume de lo cotidiano, pero maravillosa a la vez, como en la vida real; un idilio prohibido entre vecinos que buscan teñir de rojo el azul de sus vidas...

Sometimes the poetry is not composed by lyrics or verses, are the colours and shapes which give way to the feelings ... emotions walk between blacks and whites stroking greys, they lost in the melancholy of blues to wake up in the calm of ochres ...
